The 3rd district (Place des Vosges)

The 3rd district is without any doubt one of the most beautiful, especially thanks to the Marais area, rich of historical private hotels, ancient streets and exceptional museums, such as Picasso Museum, Arts et Métiers National Museum or Carnavalet Museum.

This is also a central and dynamic area, full of bars, cafes and trendy restaurants.
The best way to discover this district is to get lost in it and discover inner courtyards, hidden alleys and the many art galleries that make its specificity. Dating back to the XVII century, the unique Place des Vosges is one of the oldest one in Paris, and constitute a magnificent example of the old times architecture. When the sun is out, it becomes a real pleasure to wander and sunbathe laying down on the grass of its gardens.

The atmosphere is also enhanced by the wide variety of shops lining the streets: antique stores, photography, craft or sex-shops are getting together without any problem.

The Ile Saint Louis remains one of the nicest to wander in the area. Almost unchanged for 4 centuries, its architecture and its village ambiance make the Island a perfect place for a walk, whatever the season.
Lots of boutique fronts of these times have also been preserved.
